Trace of Tryon Community Reception

Please join us as we display the unique viewpoints of all those who participated in Trace of Tryon! This Saturday, August 8 from 11am - 4pm at McColl Center for Visual Art, we will display the nearly 100 tracings that we've collected from the community to tell the story of Charlotte's main thoroughfare.

The reception is free and open to the public, we hope that those of you who participated and contributed your tracings will come to see the cumulative results, and those of you who didn't will come view the quirky, funky, beautiful images created for this community art project.

Thank you to all those who volunteered their perspectives, time and talents to make Trace of Tryon a success!

More Examples

Here are a couple more views of Tryon, as observed from McColl Center for Visual Art. It's truly fascinating how different artists will perceive and recreate the same general scenery in their own unique way... pick up a packet and try it yourself!

A Little Inspiration...

Here are some sample drawings by staff members at the Center, as well as an example by artist-in-residence Rebecca Aloisio. As you can see, everyone's unique visions and artistic styles have created a wonderfully varied portrait of our city.
